~ About the Artist ~

Joshua D. Baker works to capture sensitive natural portraits that reveal the stunning beauty – and, at times, startling fragility – of the Earth.  He hopes that his images of landscapes and seascapes, and the creatures that inhabit them, will inspire in the viewer some of the sense of awe and discovery he feels at each encounter with the natural world.  He also hopes that his images will serve as emblems of the wildness that mankind is allowing to slip away, and inspire the viewer to help slow that trend.  A portion of proceeds from all photographic sales is donated to organizations committed to environmental education, advocacy or preservation.

Joshua was raised on a ranch in Modoc County, California, at the western edge of the Great Basin.  He and his wife Kim reside on the San Mateo Coast in Pacifica, California.
